Our Story
Built by riders, for riders.
Our Mission
WORA's mission is to grow and support women in off-road riding by creating opportunities to ride, learn, connect and progress. We work alongside local clubs to host women-focused events, clinics and programs, while reinvesting funds back into the female riding community and supporting the next generation of women in the sport.
Dusthunniez is how that mission shows up day to day — the public face of the Women's Offroad Riders Association (WORA), a registered nonprofit in British Columbia.
The Founding Crew

Carolyn — The Ringleader
Started this whole thing and somehow remains in charge despite forgetting approximately 40% of what she needs on every ride. Rides because she wants her daughter to grow up seeing women doing badass things. Firm believer in “send it” and “risk it for the biscuit,” whether or not that is actually good advice.

Shannon — The Map
Knows every trail, every turn, every hidden line and every bailout at Bear Creek. Could probably navigate the mountain blindfolded. Will know exactly where we are, exactly where we’re going…and may still end up crying somewhere along the way.

Kristin — The Hype
Sees a horrifying wall of rocks and says, “That’s easy.” Will ride basically anything and, more importantly, convince you that you can ride it too. Former kids’ teacher, which has prepared her exceptionally well for managing the rest of us. Also the trail’s leading dealer of Uncrustables.

Lanny — The Liability
Nurse by day, mediocre dirt biker by night. Somehow both the biggest sender and the slowest rider in the group. Has very little fear, mostly because she’s medically qualified to deal with the consequences of her own decisions.

Kristel — The Steady One
Calm, collected and exactly who you want around when the rest of us are making questionable decisions. Has the best laugh, brings the good vibes and is always there to make sure everyone is having a damn good time.

Katie — The Doctor
Also known simply as Dr. Fast, smooth and funny as hell. The kind of rider who makes hard things look annoyingly easy, then has something wildly inappropriate to say about it afterward.

Mud Hunniez Racing
Sisters of the Mudhunniez
Mudhunniez Racing is a women's dirt bike race team competing in the Vancouver Island Hare Scramble Series — the crew that pioneered the women's off-road racing and events scene on the Island. Dusthunniez was founded in partnership with them. We'd been building this community on the mainland for five years before we finally had a name to join together under: Dusthunniez. We proudly call ourselves Sisters of the Mudhunniez.
